ONCOLOGIC ATHLETE EXPLAINED

Your care starts with a virtual visit—where expert clinicians meet you with compassion, convenience, and a plan that fits you.

Healing Begins Where You Are

  • Tailored exercise plans involving cardiovascular based exercises like biking, walking, or running designed to maximize mortality risk reduction and cancer recurrence rates

  • Custom strength training plans involving weights to increase strength, muscle mass, improve bone density, and maximize mortality risk reduction and cancer recurrence rates

  • Indivualized plans to help improve sleep behavior in order to maximize mortality risk reduction and cancer recurrence rates

  • Guidance on appropriate food selection

  • Coaching on substance avoidance (alcohol, smoking) and social connectedness

A Message From Our Founder

My name is Kyle. I am a physical therapist, strength coach, and an instructor at Northeastern University and Massachusetts General Institute of Health Professions. I’ve worked with professional athletes, olympians, and many other division 1 athletes. Now, I design exercise programs built for individuals looking to improve their chance of survival after a diagnosis of cancer. Cancer rates are rising, and while research shows exercise is effective, it is vastly underutilized.

At The Oncologic Athlete, we provide complete one-on-one guidance that fits into the cancer treatment paradigm. Patients are given personalized programs that meet them where they are — both physically and mentally. Virtual visits allow for convenient access right from home. Weekly communication with the Doctor of Physical Therapy provides for improvements in mood, quality of life, energy levels, and survival outcomes.

There are 18.1 million cancer survivors in the U.S., with 5 to 6 million actively fighting it now. Organizations like the American Cancer Society, The American Society of Clinical Oncology, and The American College of Sports Medicine all recommend exercise, and now there is a way to receive expert guidance, right from home.

The Oncologic Athlete is the only program that truly bridges high-level exercise training with oncology, under the guidance of licensed physical therapists and thorough medical screening. It’s safe. It’s evidence-based. It’s time for cancer patients to become oncologic athletes - because the fight for survival is the most pivotal fight of all.
